Right on dude... He withdrew from the world and lived at Deer Park Monastry for 3 years, getting spiritual guidance from your favorite Thich Nhat Hanh. I knew he had compiled the poems during his stay there, but i never really connected the dots. The meaning of all the lyrics dawned on me yesterday as i drove home from NF... The first 2 lines are from Buddha's assertion that humans tend to lose control when emotions get hold of us..his teachings being targeted towards controlling our minds thru insightful meditation... The last 2 lines are words from one of Buddha's sermon to a foul mouthed angry Hindu Priest who questions the validity of his teaching in a derogatory way. Paraphrased : "When someone brings a gift of anger (to me), i refuse to let him deliver it(to me). Come and sit politely next to me and i will explain my teachings (to you)." I was telling HappyDood that had Buddha been alive, technically he could have sued Mr Cohen !
