Oh please, we don't station troops forcibly. In the early 90's Saudi Arabia asked us to defend them. We went there at their request. We are there now only because they allow us there. If our allies like the British needed to station troops on one of our shores or islands, we'd probably allow it. It's all in the nature of what allies do to help each other.
