First, the Yankees lost, which is a positive for all of America that lives outside the 5 boroughs. I'm not a Braves fan, either, and was happy to see them lose. I kind of like the Diamondbacks and was hoping the Giants would beat them, but the Claudia Cardinales got there first. The A's also lost, and I am a major A's fan. C'est la guerre. I didn't really want to see another Giants/A's series as I root for both teams. Despite beating my A's, you have to love the Twinkies. The league and the owner want to shut them down because they can't compete. Uh, if they can't compete, that only leaves two teams in baseball that can, since they made the league finals. The Angels aren't my favorites, but they are wild cards and they won convincingly. Great team to watch. And Diswacky wants to sell them, so they have been dissed this year, too. The Giants are my boys. Bobby Bonds flopping in post-season play was a sub-plot. He still has to prove himself in the series, assuming he isn't walked every time. My gut tells me the Halos will pitch to him. Which is bad for Benito. No MVP in the series if they pitch to Barry. Interesting stuff. In sports, I had an interesting but terrible Saturday. So many college teams got close and then got zapped in the end. Florida State nearly beat Criminal Tech. But didn't. Cal nearly beat the LA Condoms, but didn't. Pitt nearly beat the polyglot Irish. But didn't. LSU did stomp Florida, which was good, though, with two losses for the Handbags before the game, it didn't have that much panache. Then the Raiders lost to the dog-arsed Rams. Arghhhh! But I won at the track. And that's numero uno. <g>
