Actually, I was subject to many more assaults in my home town in England than I have ever been anywhere else. In fact, only one attempted assault since I left there. However, maybe that was just part of being a wild teenager :-)

Then again, in Switzerland (a relatively ethnically and religiously diverse country), a large percentage of households have weapons that are probably illegal in the United States.
