Mortality is the enemy, the public would agree. However, it's so easy to lie and propagandize, that various political and business sponsors would rather not bother, and would rather simply profit on the public, whether death results or not. The solution is simply full disclosure of all public information, and perhaps penalties for lying to the public from any government capacity, including making it a felony to covertly influence the media with public funds. That would sure change things
