3. QUALCOMM (Nasdaq: QCOM) saw open interest at its November 30 put jump
from 4,222 to 7,447 contracts overnight. A block of 2,000 contracts changed
hands at a price of 1.40, which was between the bid and ask. In addition, a
block of 1,000 contracts transacted at a price of 1.60, which was between the
bid and ask prices. Pessimism has been growing as QCOM's Schaeffer's put/call
open interest ratio checks in at 0.60. This reading is higher than 67.2
percent of those taken over the past 52 weeks. Furthermore, the number QCOM
shares sold short increased by 19 percent over the most recent reporting
period to 30.6 million. The stock has been steadily climbing higher over the
past several days and has succeeded in breaking through former resistance at
the 31 level.
