the follow on article about Bali risk premium is noteworthy as well...i would wager we are seeing coordinated central bank intervention here to counter the effects of the recent terrorist activity at a critical market juncture: it can be labled safely as "in the intersts of national defense", NG.

I am in the camp that is very worried about this. A continuation of this situation will end badly. Sooner or later, the ability of the U.S. to buy the world's products with bogus debt paper is going to end. When that happens we will learn that one has to be employed in the creation of some product or service to be able to buy the goods of others. I wonder how many will be employed at high or even decent wages if much of high tech moves offshore?
Meantime, those lay-off numbers continue to mount.
