Frequently, people who do bad things are not hardened. That is why many murderers confess. Therefore, it makes sense to appeal to their consciences as a means to seek improvement. But more than that, we show that things matter to us by our behavior. If we do not condemn malice, we are showing that it does not matter to us, that people may go out of their way to do harm without it being questioned.
