Mucho, RE: for criminologists, it's self-evident that many lives could be saved by outlawing guns.

It's not self evident at all. In fact, it is a source of constant debate among criminologists. In fact, once you attempt to strip away the political issues and focus only on important things like saving lives, there is a point to be made by both sides.

Anyone interested in learning further, this is a good place to start:

No matter if you're pro gun control or pro guns, there's some persuasive evidence that can make you think.

Im not sure i agree. I left high school less than 10 years ago and while I was there, I knew at 3 different people that sold guns in school. These were 15 and 16 year old kids and I went to school in Suburban America, Greenwich Connecticut to be exact. (ever notice that all the schools in the inner cities have metal detectors and security but the schools where are the shootings happened, columbine, san diego, kentucky...etc, have none of that...oh well, another debate)

I also, think that comparing Europe to America is apples and oranges. The differences in cultures and attitudes are as wide as the grand canyon.

PS: Im not in the NRA and I dont own a gun/rifle.
