FWIW, early in the discussion there was an exchange about the word, duty, and the different ways people internalize the word. There is one usage of the word that I failed to mention at the time, the one associated with potty training. I imagine that someone potty trained with that word might have that meaning stuck in their subconscious. Every once in a while during this discussion I have had occasion to reflect on the juxtaposition of Neo's moral icon and excrement. <g> Words are fascinating.
