Hey, YankerDude.

I think Pinella has a lot of things going on in his personal life that made it tough for him to deal with being on the West Coast. His whole family is on the East Coast.

But on the baseball side, he repeatedly asked to make a move for an ace (Colon), and stated that he needed another big bat. The Mariners made no moves, saying that they were at the budget allocated for the year, period. Watching the other teams make moves at the trading deadline drove him nuts. Ownership here stated that profits come before pennants. I think they are risking their fan base and profits by not being willing to do what it takes to win.

Pinella really liked David Bell, our GM dumped him for Cirillo and I don't think Pinella ever warmed to him...so all in al it was time to move.

I hope the Mets pick him up, you will love watching him. He is, and has, great character. He seems to be an outstanding person.
