WAMU, CCR, BAC, the local banks are all trying to originate a $hitload of loans (the better to collect fees and dilute the soaring delinquencies of the loans still on their books). 2% is a rip, IMO.....

I got one today from Fleet promising up to $50,000 with zero interest until next August. Well, I started figuring, if I could run up $20,000 in household expenses and keep the money in my bank money market account and then pay all off near the end of next July, after taxes I might clear $65 in interest. Now do I really want to keep track of all that for nine months and risk messing up and suddenly getting a big interest or penalty charge. Don't think so
