I agree w/all of that. OFF TOPIC>> The only thing I would add is: terrorist activity (or potential(!) terrorist activity) can never be viewed as comparable to an organized army invasion, be it propagated by American extremists, nuts, or foreign nationals.. the lines are too fine and you have well expressed the inherent dangers in your post. Having said this much, I feel that I really need to stay away from political issues in this forum, as I do have strong feelings about some issues, many of which I suspect would not necessarily be aligned with most here. I will also say that in many ways I am quite empathetic to the libertarian perspective -and have lived in Montana for many years! ;-) Otherwise my outlook is probably way left of many here. I would not want anyone to think that these differences detract in any way from my appreciation of their character, brains, interests, loyalty, convictions, affability, aura, sense of humor, or trading ability.. <all meant quite seriously..> ..and after all, I am engaging in the cosummate capitalist activity here ;o) -BRMBLS

i tend to agree with you except for one small point... "what if..." the sniper is one of them former military turned militia-wacko who thinks that the current government IS an "illegal government" Because of that, they attack "areas of influence by the government" (similar to the McVeigh's of the world). i.e a Federal building. In this instance, they are attacking Washington DC where the government seat is, in order to prove the point that the current government does not give a damn about its people. In their own eyes, they consider themselves 'para military', attacking the government, using para-military/urban guerrilla tactics. In such instance, I believe that it is justified to use the military --if not in full display, perhaps in some sort of "advisory" capacity. -or- the snipers are foreign individuals trained under military supervision executing urban guerrilla warfare. Either way, they have proven effective enough to warrant at least some degree of military intervention. The scary part is that it is happening right here, not in Santo Domingo, or Managua... or whatever... This sounds too "structured, well planned and executed" to be the work of some misfit jackass on a suicidal mission. but in reality, i do not really know.` a few of the nutzzzzz qrd.org for example.... how about ...
