Did he say do nothing? I bet he has a whole wish list of things he would LOVE the US to do... all of which I'm sure he believes would raise the status of our country to such heights throughout the world as to dry up any support for such acts in the future.

Tell me, do you fail to see how the strong military response, with all the collateral damage incidents (real, imagined or totally fabricated), feeds the existing resentment to the US in many places? And how this resentment makes attacks more likely.

I guess to people who divide the world into good guys and bad guys, military action or doing nothing appear might appear to be the range of available options.
