Hi Cobie:

whenever I have to overcome some more news on the Washington/DC spree killer, the few friends in the area come to my mind. Includes you and your family.

<Unfortunately, right now I have in my mind's eye very emotionally charged images of bodies scattered pell-mell. Young bodies of people formerly in the prime of life. >

This is what detatchment is all about... letting the true self observe the egoic selfs emotions and thoughts. It is the only truth.

<Dalai Lama's letter is food for thought.>

He sees all the emotion and knows that decisions made in such a state lack clarity because the truth in not seen.

<As the Dalai Lama says, we will make the right decision, and the reason is that there are no mistakes. >

What is... is. It is there to be seen. If the response turns out to be a bad one [not wrong mind you], it is there... you see it...
