Re: "Abstinence is safe. Sex isn't." I agree. However, it makes NO sense NOT to teach kids about birth control. Both abstinence and birth control need to be taught in schools. Re: "If they took responsibility, they would reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies ..." It's also a cultural problem. Re: (Conservatives) "don't want to be in charge of women's reproductive functions": I strongly disagree. If a majority of conservatives had their way, Roe v. Wade would be overturned tomorrow.
