Re: The most effective way to get the sniper would be....

...to carry out random checkpoints throughout the region --the same way police officers handle Breathalizer checkpoints. You're faced with random terror so you must not wait for the next killing to control the vehicles exiting the crime area --you must do it BEFORE! Pre-emptive, random checkpoints is the only sensible strategy.

Next, you've got too many FBI marplots hanging around. There's got to be a mole among them. Trim your investigative manpower, bypass the Justice Dept. and Ashcroft, funnel all the info to Tom Ridge, feed Mueller with weekly sanitized digests about the ongoing investigation. Get NSA Condi Rice into the action and then --only then-- you might have a chance to catch the Israeli terrorists....

The most disturbing thing about this random killing , is the people that have been slain have been all to human stories , and each one of them special and will be missed

From Sydney Morning Herald
( was looking in on Australia after the Bali Bombing , they are also reporting on our sniper here )
smh.com.au

Linda Franklin had beaten breast cancer, raised two children and a niece practically by herself and was expecting her first grandchild in just a few months. She was looking forward to moving this week into a bigger home. Instead, she became the ninth victim of the Washington sniper.

The 47-year-old FBI intelligence specialist was gunned down last night by a single shot to the head as she and her husband, Ted, were loading their red convertible with items for their new home in the parking lot of a shopping mall.

and more on the Bali Bombings from over there for those interested from the Sydney Herald:
