I was talking to a couple people I met last night. They canceled their trip to D.C. this week due to the sniper, and have no plans in the near future to reschedule they said. I wonder how hurt the tourism industry has been hurt by this??

Oh, would I love to see a Sarbanes-Oxley Act for the government, including the president and congress. To even the playing field the government would be subject to: -real time disclosures -responsibility for internal controls -disclosure of material off-balance transactions (e.g. Social Security liabilities) -longer statutes of limitations for fraud -oversight board to compel testimony -disgorgement of ill-gotten profits -tough penalties for willfully certifying crappy reports... You get the idea. What's good for the goose.... I don't think I'll hold my breath on this one.
