Re: A possible Al Q connection on the Sniper, I wondered if the "Tarot" would be a negative for a Fundalmentalist Muslim. Looks like it would fit.

>>>Tarot cards are an early form of today's playing cards, entering Europe in the 14th century in Italy and France. A nice facsimile of one of these early decks, the 15th century Visconti-Sforza Tarocchi Deck, is still available today. They were described by Feliciano Busi as being "from Saracinia," i.e., the land of the Saracens, or Arabia. It's important to recall that one of Europe's greatest civilizations - Moorish Spain - was flourishing at this time, and that there was a great deal of intellectual exchange going on between Europe and the Middle East.<<<

Re: I am watching the "Sniper" situation (...)This could well be an "Al Queda" operation.

Not sure if a Muslim fundamentalist would write "I am God" as a message :) It would be serious sacrilege for them.

Besides, while Tarot cards might have come in origin from near the Arab peninsula, pictures (especially facial depictions) of humans is a Very Bad Thing for strict followers of Islam. (Originates from a distaste of the Prophet for Christian icons and his wish never to be thus worshipped). And I vaguely remember that the Death card had a hung guy or some other depiction of a dead man.

In addition these snipers disappear very fast,, perhaps they have safe houses in the area of each shoot.
