Agree that it is significant to consider geopolitics in trading, though in my own experience it is difficult to apply these concepts to trading short term. What I meant is that I try not to enter into posting conversations using my own beliefs as opposed to a more general view. I try and keep personal stuff separate as possible from any geopolitical considerations in the markets.

As an example, years ago on the old SD thread and again a year or so ago on the new SDII, I mentioned the book "Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order...." as an excellent read giving some clues as to what lies ahead. Post 9-11 the book has become popular, but those that read it ahead before that time may have had some foresight into the violent possibilities in the clash of Islam and Christianity. But my recommendation of that book does not mean I agree personally with everything the author has to say.
