'It was an American company, Pfaulder Corporation of Rochester, New York, which in 1975 supplied the Iraqis with a blueprint which enabled them to build their first chemical warfare plant' (p.99).

Pfaudler appears to be a general manufacturer of reaction vessels for any processes which involve corrosive chemicals. I recall glass lined tanks used to make STP from oil during an unpleasant summer job many years ago.

Caspar Pfaudler had a good idea for lining an enameled steel tank with glass so that chemicals and other substances would not react. That was the basis of Pfaulder Corp., which is still the leading producer of glass-lined tanks in the nation. Pfaudler's tanks appear from 1910 to the present on lists of products that Rochester has led the nation in producing.
