AK-47, -74, or any of the shorter/folding stock variants (AKMS, etc.) would be 7.62mm rounds. Far different story.

The witness at Home Depot said the gun appeared to be an AK-74 according to the news conference in Rockville MD.

Interesting... but if true, I would have to believe the shooter is using a Galil, which closely resembles an AK-74 (which closely resembles and AK-47)..

But I also believe there are AK-74's that have been chambered for .223..

But the scoped pistol theory is the one that I'm becoming fascinated with...

It would go a long way to explaining why only one shot is fired at each event.. He wouldn't have time to reload and pop off another round.

I still contend that were this the work of Islamic militants, there wouldn't just be one shot, one kill... Why only kill one when you could kill a 1/2 dozen and still escape??

Btw, has the Michael's arts and crafts theory been discussed here?? I believe there is some real credibility behind it since there has been a Michaels located in close proximity of all the most recent shootings.

Could somebody dig up the last picture that Usama Bin Laden was shooting? The reason why I ask this question is i want to see the gun again.
