One would think it's time for US leadership to show an interest in reducing armed conflict. If I didn't know better, I'd say the real policy is to maximize global combat however and wherever possible. That's not the history of the conservatives. The history of the conservatives is when you have a failed policy, you just didn't do it enough. e.g., they say that the death penalty is a deterrent, it hasn't been, so the conclusion is that you should limit appeals and do it more frequently and quickly. [You also have to ignore the torture used by the Chicago homicide unit or the discrepancies in racial application of the death penalty....so they blubber about "political correctness".] Increase criminal penalties...3 strikes, fill the prisons with cannabis users. They fail to "look ahead" have a national pre-emptive policy and other countries will copy it. If the meek inherit the earth, it'll be because they're the only ones left. jttmab
