The Catholic church in some form?
hmmmm
when is the Catholic church not the Catholic church? When it does not call itself the Catholic church?

You know, I hope, that there is no way to prove the validity or invalidity of the continuity- right? You can assume continuity, but it would only be an assumption. It is hardly proof- at least in the way I interpret proof. There is no mention of continuity in the novel. You are inferring it.

I don't know everyone who has read the novel, I don't even know almost everyone- do you? But some posts here seem to indicate that other people did not find it to be the Catholic church. I'm not sure things are as obvious as you think they are. This is of course, merely my opinion, and I can recognize an opinion, even when it is mine, when I meet one.
