Actually, they do allow guns on airplanes. In Alaska, it is almost a daily thing since we have so much hunting and need for protection against bears. I myself have carried a gun in my baggage to the airport, declared it, checked it, and picked up my baggage unmolested at my destination. No big deal.

Because the building where I work contains a federal court, I believe concealed carry guns are not allowed. It's never been a problem with me. We kept our bear rifles in the basement in a locked cabinet in a locked room, but I recently submitted the paperwork to surplus them.
