If the other countries didn't impose tariffs on our goods and we imposed a tariff on their steel, it would be worth a second look. The deciding factor should be what's best for the United States, given the big picture.

The big picture is that the US did not impose steel tariffs as a retalitory measure. The rest of the world has modernized it's industry to be competitive, while the US industry has relied on subsidies. The US can't compete.

I differ with the President on campaign finance reform. He never should have signed that bill. It infringes on first amendment rights, and could have dire consequences. We shall see.

I have yet to have anyone tell me exactly how the campaign finance reform infringes on the 1st amendment. There was a USSC decision that controlling campaign financing was not inherently a 1st amendment restriction.
