Hi Clappy,

I didn't post a counterpoint. I didn't read thames post until I completed my post. What you read was my POV RE: the unilateral invasion question you made.

I didn't take sides in this issue either. I've found that taking sides lends itself to buying into misperceptions & agendas that have little or no basis in reality. It makes it too easy for emotions to rule rather than facts, logic & reason. Again, I formed my POV based on what I have seen, what's been said by all concerned & what's actually transpired since 9/11............. no more, no less.

IOW, I made up my own mind & didn't let superfluous issues, political leaning &/or other people's emotions or agendas influence my thinking.

And yes, I realize I won't win any popularity contests or endear myself to folks who are emotionally attached to their political beliefs or those who seek comfort/peers by following the crowd & embracing groupthink. I insist on my own independent thought process & forming my own POV's. Besides, it makes it much easier to tell who is really my peer & who isn't.

BTW, my POV might well be wrong. If it is I'll own up to it & I'll change my POV accordingly. What do you think the chances are that those who are emotionally attached or have political agendas & those who follow the crowd & embrace groupthink will do if they are wrong?
