Yes, that is true (just the short side this year, though) but I have an analyst background, which, notwithstanding the pejorative status of the word these days, gives an insight into what news is good and what is bad for the revenues and profits of a company.

To each his own. And I'd rather look at oil prices, valuations (no kidding), demand, GDP, etc than draw lines on a chart that everyone else knows how to draw as well.

Not to offend anyone. I am just trying to say that it is fallacious to say that we cannot interpret the news correctly to judge whether or not they will be good for a company.
