Russia Says Britain, U.S. Have New Ideas on Iraq
Thu Oct 17,12:09 PM ET

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said on Thursday that the United States and Britain would be presenting new suggestions on an Iraq resolution to the U.N. Security Council in the next few days.

Ivanov, who was speaking after talks with Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou, said the new proposal would take into account the Russian viewpoint. Russia is opposed to authorizing the use of force against Iraq.

"A new draft of the Anglo-American resolution will take into account the Russian viewpoint," Interfax quoted Ivanov as telling reporters.

The Russian foreign minister said he had been told of the decision by Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) in a telephone conversation on Wednesday.

"You have never substantiated any disinformation" Good grief -- Even the CIA says there is no threat from Iraq. If there is a threat it is from North Korea -- but they could defend themselves and there is no oil in North Korea. Bush talks about the connection between Iraq and al Qaeda and has zero proof -- none. That is disinformation.
