excellent points.

You may be surprised but I focus mainly on the long term ramifications of patterns. For instance, it is my contention that cup and handle patterns result in stock price appreciation over an enduring period of time. This is not something that plays out over the course of a day trade. Furthermore, there is a greater importance on certain indicators at the end of trends which occur over large timeframes. I look for divergences at those points. As an example, I believe GLE.TO is diverging from its established downtrend. I used such divergences to purchase gold shares of unhedged miners near thier bear market lows. However, I was less successful at identifying the top and sold a great many stocks too early (for a nice profit).
