This is unfortunate. Saddam can now allow sham inspections, then when the US calls for a new UN resolution he will try to delay it and then say ok now we will really let inspectors work, meanwhile another year goes by with no resolution.

Tim, what's most unfortunate is the Bush administration's handling of this whole matter........it has been very poorly done. Its locked us into an embarrassing corner. We either were to eat crow, or run off and attack Saddam. It looks like crow it is.

Aahh...that elusive resolution. Two more years and we may not have to worry about it at all. One hopes.

I think so, too. I would have thought we had the clout at this point to insist on the single-resolution approach.
