Yes GC I remember those times as well. I received a lottery number of 144 in 1970. Had it been a low one, well I don't know, but I might just be Canuck today. As a youth the Vietnam War woke me up, and drove me far away from my hard nosed Republican routes.

I'm an Idaho mountain lad and Senator Frank Church, from Idaho, was one of the early ones that spoke out against the war. He wasn't that popular where I came from.

And oh the Dominoe Theory. What a crock that one was. We were just shy of being afraid to use the outhouse, for a Commie might be waiting to ambush ya.

Presently I consider myself an independent, and will always remain as one.

I don't recall anyone predicting the present problems we have. IMHO the root cause of the problem is that most of the unrest is driven by the fact that millions of people live in squalor, and many of them are Moslem. It is not the religion that drives fanaticism, it is the environment.

Per my experience upper crust Moslems are no more fanatical or caring about their religion than an average Christian.
