I believe above the 1290 area is approximately the .618 re-trace of the drop from 1426 to 1108. (318 * .618 =196) = 1305 COMP. That's the gap that's unfilled.

Taking 196 and a local top around 1305, we could get some fib numbers for a drop. One would be 196 x 1.618 = 317

1305-317=988 COMP If we hit 1315, we drop to the 982.

By the way, the April 2001 ramp was tested early on. The gap support held partially, providing a decent re-test of with in 5%

yeah, but those gaps also had long(ish) bodies, indicating not only a gap, but a run from the gap. if you take out the gaps, this week, for all its gyrations, is pretty flat.

the only explanations that come to (my admittedly feeble) mind are either nobody is buying much of anything, or there plenty of buying but it is matched by distribution.

i'm having a very tough time finding a bullish rational for all this gap'n'flatting.
