Al, <American influence is everywhere in the world.>

So what? Most of the major nations of this world aim for the influence that America has.

<Find me another 200 year old nation that has fought 200+ conflicts. Did we get attacked each time or did we invite ourselves into many of these fights to exhert our influence?>

I don't get your point. So America is powerful and influential. Is that so bad? You make it sound like America was the bad guy in every single one of those "200+ conflicts," or even in most of them.

This whole "Blame America" nonsense is turning the citizens of the free world into a bunch of whiners. Maybe Europe ought to blame themselves for the anti-Sematism that gave rise to WWII and still exists today. Maybe Europeans ought to blame themselves for drawing the arbitrary boundaries in the Middle East that has led to ethnic strife (and also terrorism). Maybe Europeans ought to blame themselves for centuries of colonialism that has virtually impoverished India, SE Asia, and Latin America.

(Don't get me started on Asia, either.)

There is a lot of blame to go around, Al. There is also a lot of responsibility to go around as well. America has its share of the burden, and so do other nations, especially those who are quick to criticize America for any social injustice in the world.

But to foster this "Blame America" nonsense is counterproductive and just plain unpatriotic. If you think America is the only one who says "Show me the money" when it comes to diplomacy, just say so. It'll put every single one of your other comments in the proper context.
