not sure it really applies especially in light of the fact that WS has been touting the strength of the consumer to bolster the economy....guess time will tell <g>)

My state has 7.4% unemployment, highest in the nation I believe. BA is laying off more workers. Each BA job supports another 1.5 jobs in the community. In this neck of the woods, I wouldn't count on the consumer to bolster this economy. Not anytime soon, at least.
