OK, but for the average USA citizen working abroad, who has a family back home, or who intends to return some day, it's a different story. The IRS knows how much your earning, or can find out, and your in real deep doo doo if you try and sneak a few dollars past 'em without paying USA taxes.

But you sound experienced in this matter -g- I know my USA tax guy used to pay for his small fee usually by an order of magnitude or so in saved taxes.

The USA is a breath of fresh air tax wise compared to most European countries. The only advantage I have is as a UK citizen is, say I get a job in Saudia Arabia, I pay no taxes at all except the local ones.
