Kirk,
9/11 and the "bust" confused corps and doing nothing became the mantra. Do nothing at some point =s going out of business. Business folks understand this and at some point there choice is to view the world/US glass half full or theres always the mattress.
In these difficult days i keep thinking of FDR's "nothing to fear but fear itself" line. Sometimes i think we are all a bunch of fraidy cats. If the WW2 generation was the "greatest" its time for us to step up to the plate. In corporate america this means Capex. There must have been a time after Pearl Harbor into 1942 when similar things happened. Mike
