Sunw's revenue came in a little light- I suspect this is why cisco dropped off at the eod (sun sells to the carriers)- Sunw has the additional problem of msft and linux though.

Revenue was lighter than the $2.87 billion analyst consensus, falling to $2.7 billion from $2.9 billion.

Well, I ain't completely on board with you that IBM's earnings were good and MSFT guided down for their next quarter (though kept their year target the same). And then when you look at INTC's earnings and guidance and AMD's earnings (though guidance was very positive). I would have to say that it is a coin toss.

you might look at Henry Nicholas' comments from BRCM's earnings report for some hint though.

It is the company's "fifth consecutive quarter of revenue growth and reduced operating losses, despite a difficult economic environment," noted CEO Henry Nicholas in the earnings release. "Our performance this quarter was led by our networking product line, as well as continued production ramps from our emerging businesses."

I have no idea whether or not it is good to listen to this or not.

I am still very bearish on this market.
