Slider:

I also like the gold stock action here. XAU flat on a day when stocks surge, the dollar is very strong, and POG drops $2.50. I suspect the XAU and HUI will drop a little more, but not too much more. Time to be buying the dips for a big move up early next year IMHO.

Slider, further to your positives on NEM

Like what the A/D line is doing here relative to price. Also the CMF indicator (not pictured) has gone positive as the buying you noted in the lower reaches of recent bounds has lead to firmer closes. Obviously were at the bottom of the scales rather than the top and where one's bullishness ought to be increasing not decreasing.

Have to think we'll see some reversal of this week's trends going by the close tomorrow - weekend fears. Also I think the COTs will appear friendly with commercials coming out of more net shorts and small specs further off their 5+ to 1 long to short ratio.

Lower opening in the miners tomorrow along with higher first half hour general equities ought to be "adding time."

NEM - one year w/ A/D line and extended DMI - "looking for the hooks"
