Coo Coo Ca Choo I'm A Bull, No I'm A Bear, .... No I'm A Walrus!!!

'Ode To An Oasik'

Strange things have been done in the Midnight Sun,
and the story books are full ---
But the strangest tale concerns the male,
magnificent walrus bull!

I know it's rude, quite common and crude,
Perhaps it is grossly unkind;
But with first glance at least, this bewhiskered beast,
is as ugly in front as behind.

Look once again, take a second look -- then
you'll see he is not ugly or vile --
There's a hint of a grin, in that blubbery chin --
and the eyes have a sly secret smile.

How can this be, this clandestine glee
that exudes from the walrus like music
He knows, there inside, beneath blubber and hide
lies a splendid contrivance - the Oasik!

"Oasik" you say -- and quite well you may,
I'll explain if you keep it between us;
In the simplest truth, though rather uncouth
"Oasik" is, in fact, his penis!

Now the size of this Walrus bone,
would indeed arouse envious thinking --
Is it also a fact, documented and backed,
There is never a softening or shrinking!

This, then, is why the smile is so sly,
the walrus is rightfully proud.
Though the climate is frigid, the walrus is rigid,
Pray, why, is not man so endowed?

Add to this, is a smile you might miss --
Though the bull is entitled to bow --
The one to out smile our bull by a mile
is the satisfied walrus cow!

(More to follow at some point in time!)

olstein has been pushing tqnt since it was 10. i think rfmd is better in that space, but they both will go later this year. the chip biz (not chip equipment) will grow in 2003.

Hi Slider - you asked what I like and why (in tech). I just got back from a long weekend, so this is kind of old news, but a week ago I bought GLE.TO (down since then), AAPL (flat), and NT (up bigtime).

I bought NT because the stock was priced for bankruptcy, but I thought they would survive, and it looked ready to bounce. I bought AAPL (even though I'm not a Mac user) because their stuff is so sexy, computer geeks who thought they were married to PC or Linux for life just can't stand the temptation anymore, plus Apple has tons of cash, and I like the chart. I bought GLE.TO (Global Thermoelectric) because the stock is back where it was several years ago, but the business has progressed a lot since then, they have lots of cash, and a realistic fuel cell strategy which I think will start to pay off soon... and the chart may be turning around.

Sorry I don't generally follow Semis. I do know one I like though: XLNX. Normally I would stay away from a stock with a price/revenue ratio of 5, but it's the leader in the FPGA market, which is going to be huge soon. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the price of "commodity" items like RAM memory and disk drives started going up. I don't think sales will grow next year, but producers are adjusting to a smaller market, so the glut is ending.

P.S. despite that last bullish post I am still ultra-bearish on the Dow next year. Debt is the problem.
