I have no clue how earnings rise next year either....really....we have not gone thru the normal "get rid of debt" cycle (not on personal, or corporate or state/Fed gvt levels- in fact, we increased leverage to extroadinary levels. One of the virtues of correctly executed capitalism-g (shedding of debt in downturns) has fallen by the wayside here, and like the ol' commercial used to go, "you can pay me now, or pay me later". My extension to that would be- "and later, it'll be worse"

I s'pose we are trying to create our own unique version of Japan, Inc. How American! ng,g
