OT - RTS, I've actually been doin' some significant tradin', just haven't been postin' the plays. It's a real commitment to post real-time and I guess I've just been too lazy lately. I won't bore ya with the details, but let's just say ya woulda been proud. <g> I've done well enough with the short term stuff to more than cover the LT hit - another reason I feel comfortable bailin' here. BTW, we also dumped our 5000 share AMAT position today and yes, we took a large $40K loss - Ouch! We booked the hit here to offset some of the cap gains we logged in the first quarter of the year.

Yeah, my conviction to hold both our AMAT and my LT Portfolio faded away in this environment, but things change and I gotta go with my gut here - just hope I'm not makin' a big mistake at the worst possible time!

OT - I just realized I didn't answer your question: "Will you be looking to play more on the short side after your sales?"

I don't have any specific plans to trade more, but I think we can expect some negative news out of AMAT in the near term that might provide some pain for those holdin' short term and overnight long plays. FWIW, my bias leans to the dark side for the moment.

QCOM short/cover plan:

Will short @ 36 (looks like ST resistance), and about every 5 points up from there. Cover at 30, and 25 (where the stock has bounced repeatedly). At 36, QCOM has had a 44% runup from support at 25, and I think this rally is petering out. It could, however, go as high as 50 (a double off support), and I'd be prepared to keep shorting up to there.
