"you might be seduced into thinking that after overthrowing Saddam Hussein we're going to turn Iraq into a flourishing democracy." Sure, we have only to look at Afghanistan to see how successful we are at this: women are still not liberated, war continues, people starve and raucous weddings are out of the question. What about the Israeli Palestine conflict, it's been going on for decades, children are machine gunned down in the streets and human bombs retaliate. Then of course, we have children going to be hungry, serious drug problems - prescribed as well as illegal, schools that fail to teach and a sniper picking off people like clay ducks in this country. And the economy sucks.
