Re: Discredited information

With Monday's key witness discredited, authorities said the following details reported on the Home Depot shooting are no longer valid:

- That the sniper was only 30 yards away when the shot was fired

- That the sniper is a male and had olive skin color

- That a cream-colored van was used in the escape

- That the sniper used an AK-74 rifle, stepped out of a van, put the gun to his shoulder and then fired

- That a partial license plate number was reported

"I would totally get away from all of the statements that were supposedly emanating from witnesses in the Fairfax County case," Fairfax County Police Lt. Amy Lubas said.

Rick,

I have routinely hit ground hogs at 200 yards from a rest with a Sako .308 and a Thompson Center Contender Carbine in .223 with open sights.

Hitting a human at 200 yards in the chest is not a tough shot.

I also believe it is possible with a traditional AR15 fitted with a better than issue sight....but not necessarily a telescopic version.

Shootie

Apparently the consensus is that this guy is using a scope since at least two of his shots were 150-200 yards

nope. Please take a look at the basic army training course in boot camp. The snipers that the navy seals have on their teams can light matches at 200 yards without the aid of a scope.
