p.s.Technological developments have dramatically reduced oil sands production cash costs to less than C$12 per barrel, compared with over C$20 per barrel about a decade ago.

Syncrude's new Aurora project, which will feature the latest technologies and incorporate economies of scale synergies, will produce synthetic crude for less than C$10 per barrel once it is completed. And Suncor expects cash cost to fall to less than C$9 per barrel once its expansion is completed.
