Invading Iraq will hardly cool the fires between the Palestinians and Israelis

Yes it will, if it cuts the last source of funding to the Palestinians and they admit that they've lost. Some top leaders, such as Abdel Razak Yahya and Mohammed Dahlan, have already admitted this, but they can't topple Yasser and Yasser won't endanger his Iranian and Iraqi funding. Zinni is moving himself into the 'be nice to the Arabs and they'll like us' camp, a camp with a really dismal track record. Rumsfield is in t he 'be strong and the Arabs will respect us' camp, which has a better track record imo.

And if what you say is true that you were once "liberal" and are now rightwing, aren't you a contradiction of yourself?

I was never very "liberal" on foreign policy, more centrist, and have shifted over the course of ten years, not done a 180 in the last six months as Zinni seems to have.
