Hi Gina Vener; Re the list of NATO fights. Northern Ireland and the Falklands are both essentially bloodless conflicts, as compared to Algeria and Vietnam. Falklands lasted what, a month or two, while the "Troubles" (gross exaggeration) only killed 693 people "not from Northern Ireland". The Dutch took 2,526 KIA fighting in Indonesia, which is worse than Northern Ireland, but still is like a wild frat party compared to what France did in Algeria and Vietnam. France lost 90,000 KIA in Algeria and Vietnam. Since France is 5x smaller than the US, that's equivalent to 450,000 US combat deaths, far more than we took in Korea, Vietnam, and all the other little post WW2 fights put together. My point still stands. France is the only EU member that has been in significant combat since WW2. Their KIA numbers are nearly two orders of magnitude larger than any other EU states'.
