RE>I just illustrate two examples of how it is easy to spiritualize, because of human understanding! But as shown, it is possible to interpret these verses literally now, but when written, almost impossible to take literally.<

Are you suggesting that what was written in Revelation can NOW be seen as literal but past generations had no hope of understanding what it meant?

Here is my question to you

What happens to AUDIENCE RELEVANCY?

The very first INTRODUCTORY statements say this...

Rev 1:1 ¶ The revelation given by Jesus Christ, which God granted Him, that He might make known to His servants certain events which must shortly come to pass: and He sent His angel and communicated it to His servant John.

If the poor people that lived when John was granted this revelation had no chance to understand it then why did God not say "make know to FUTURE servants"

I'm sorry but I fail to see what technological advances such as TV or atom bombs or helicopters or missiles have to do with biblical interpretation.

Could you do something for me.

Take the very first verse of Revelation and attempt to change every word that you can into another English word that means exactly the same thing - synonyms.

I look forward to seeing how you paraphrase it.
