The "International Community" is going to have to decide for itself whether the ongoing war on terror is worth fighting in its own right. Personally, I don't think the United States is going to lack for support on that score, regardless of what or what not happen re Iraq.

So that's the line I don't buy.

What constitutes a "measured response" is pretty much in the eye of the beholder, and is often a function of what they themselves may stand to lose or gain. It seems disingenuous to me to suggest the United States will lose credibility by demonstrating its willingness to act and gain credibility by demonstrating its willingness not to act. That's wishful thinking in my view. Let the United Nations continue to demonstrate how effective that approach is.
