but I think there's an element of truth here -- it's even in Roach's column. There are some large changes happening in the last year and coming years that will make the troubles in the financial markets look like nothing more than a "bad hair" day ...

I'm not like that guy in any respect, but when I discuss the possibility of negative fallout with respect to "taking care of biz with Sadam" or loss of civil rights or possible civil unrest in the US or even war in South America -- even my best friends look at me like I've got holes in my head. I think folks are in a bit of denial about 9-11 and a lot of other things ...

Maybe it is TV -- I watched some last night at the motel where I stayed -- a incomprehensible jumble of images, flashing lights and noise -- no, I wasn't drunk. I was just watching the news and the commercials.

Everything is sold as being normal, when it really isn't.
